DMN since your beginning, you have always promoted the Milan Area, and in this article Moving Milan Forward [MMF] and the Veteran Wall with honor. All of your articles are of a positive nature unlike mass media today which relies on the negative or creates the negative for circulation purposes nothing else.
I hope you continue to find the financial support to keep this paper and this web site going as a positive truthful reporting of local Milan Area events past, current and future!
This article involved a few of the people and groups that supported the Milan Veteran Wall. MMF hopes someday to have on line comments and articles about many of the veterans listed here, and others to be added in the future. We need to continue to tell their stories, [which they wish to share] so we can better understand what they gave so bravely and how it impacted their lives. Thank you DMN for your part.

Thank You for writing this article with such HEART. My eyes filled with tears upon reading your words, Our Council Men who were there to recieve the Flag was most touching. Who better to recieve the flag for our City than those who were elected to serve our City and CHOSE to serve our Country. To Martha who took it upon herself to research the names for the wall, and to be PROUD that she did so Thank YOU. Just a great big THANK YOU to each and every VETERAN who is listed on the wall and those that will be in the future and to those that are unknown God knows who you are and your loved ones. The question “Do you believe medical marijuana and its caregivers should be permitted in the city”, should had allowed each candidate to explain their answer.

My answer was assuming that we were talking about it from a legal standpoint using state laws that allows medical marijuana if distributed by a caregiver under the present guidelines. My answer was not a moral stand by any means.

Just a word about owning a small business in Milan… i never had a ” Ribbon cutting ceremony” when I opened my hair salon on Tolan St. last September. Never once was greeted by the mayor and was only ever patronized by Joe Chapin. ( Thank you Joe for your support) before closing shop only one year later.
please note that Norma Smith is awesome and was very kind and supportive.
